Dr. Doron Sommer is an Otolaryngologist/Head & Neck surgeon and Clinical Professor at McMaster University. He completed his medical studies and residency in Otolaryngology at the University of Toronto in 2000 and went on to advanced training in Facial Plastic Surgery. He also specializes in Rhinology and Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery as well as minimally invasive surgical techniques in otolaryngology. He has research interests in surgical techniques in rhinology/skull base surgery, pediatric sleep apnea, smoking cessation and surgical flow & safety measures. He has published many peer reviewed publications as well as several book chapters, and has given numerous lectures, courses and workshops at national and international surgical meetings. Dr. Sommer is an active member of several professional societies and is currently the co-chair of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Otolaryngology examination board.
